first, this is not offered to all residents as condo owners have to pay their own disposal. Their property tax payments are paying for other residents  trash removal but not theirs . What is fair about that? Many condo units pay as much as some single family homes.  Second, what do we do with residents that refuse to recycle at all, and their are many.  More than one has told me they can't be bothered for numerous reasons, all lame excuses (exp. no place to put bins) in my book  Simple math told me they are costing the town $50-80 a year in tipping fees.

To me , the more important services of keeping the library and Essex St fire station open are more vital than a gold plated trash disposal program for lazy people. Only by luck those stayed open this year. I would hope you would support a modest fee if that choice faced the town again. rick
